AMAZING!!! Legacy Projects: “You Are Doing Us A Great Deal of Favour. We Are Proud of You” – Abia Deputy Governor tells Abia Deputy Speaker

The Deputy Governor of Abia State, Rt. Hon. Sir Ude Oko Chukwu has described the Deputy Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Uchendu as a TRUE representative of his people.

The Deputy Governor stated this today at the Foundation Laying Ceremony of the Abia North Fire Service Station at Amaekpu Ohafia.

Speaking at the event, the Deputy Governor stated that the Deputy Speaker is doing the Okezie Ikpeazu’s administration a great deal of favour by complementing the efforts of the administration in providing basic infrastructures at the grassroot.

He also noted that the Deputy Speaker who was given the opportunity to represent the people of Ohafia South has made everyone proud and at the same time shown very clearly his capability and readiness to shoulder even a bigger responsibility.

Rt. Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu promised that the state Government will continue to support the Deputy Speaker, declaring that the Fire Service Station will bring more good tidings to the people of Abia North.

He appealed to the good people of Ohafia South Constituency never to relent in their continues support to the Deputy Speaker to enable him achieve even more.

According to the Deputy Governor who is also celebrating his birthday today, “God allowed the coincidence to happen. Since the Deputy Speaker decided that the best way to celebrate my birthday is to rekindle hope in the lives of Abia North citizens by Laying a Foundation stone for the construction of the Abia North Fire Service. I want to tell you my very dear brother, this is one of the best way to celebrate my birthday.

And for others who would love to celebrate my birthday again, either this year or next year, also ask me to come and lay foundations stone for nde Ohafia, Abia North or Abia State”. he concluded.

Earlier in his Speech, the Sponsor of the project and the Deputy Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu noted that he embarked on the project to its very importance in fighting fire outbreaks in the Zone.

He argued that apart from the Fire Service Stations at Aba and Umuahia which serve the Abia South and Central Zone, the people of Abia North were still lacking behind which according to him prompted his motion at the floor of the 6th Abia State House of Assembly for A Fire Service Station in Abia North Zone.

He informed the audience that the Governor has already promised to donate a fire fighting truck to the station once the project is completed.

The Deputy Speaker also explained that out of the 9 projects he initiated since last year, 7 of them have been completed and commissioned. He also informed that the Skill Acquisition Center Project in Amangwu community of Ohafia will be completed by April this year.

He thanked the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Sir Ude Oko Chukwu as well as the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Chinedum Orji for their unflinching support which has seen him perform beyond the expectations of the people while assuring that he will do more.

Also Speaking, the Comptroller Abia State Fire Service, Mr. Victor Okey Gbaruko thanked the Deputy Speaker for his thoughtfulness in initiating the project for Abia North Zone. He noted that the project when completed will assist the men of the state fire service in tackling incidence of fire outbreak in Ohafia and Abia North in General.

Mr Gbaruko also stated he is optimistic that the actualization of the project will help to boost the number of their personnel as he noted that Abia State has the lowest number of Fire Service personnel in the country. He pleaded with the Governor through his Deputy to assist the Outfit in recruiting more capable hands to enable them function optimally.

In his own Speech, the traditional ruler of Amaekpu Community, Eze Awa Nwankwo thanked the Deputy Speaker for constantly delivering dividends of democracy to the people of Ohafia. He noted that a project as the Fire Service Station is a big plus to the law maker who has since changed the narratives as it bothers on efficient and effective representation.

He assured the Deputy Speaker of the continues support of Amaekpu community in all his future endeavours.

The ceremony attracted the presence of the Executive Chairman of Ohafia LGA, Dr. Okoroafor Ukiwe, Captain Awa (Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters), Hon. Kalu I. Uduma (immediate past Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Abia State), Hon. Chief Mba Ukaha, Chief Mrs Love Ezema, Barr. David Iro (Abia State PDP Secretary), Hon. Emmanuel Ukpong (PDP Chairman, Ohafia), Mrs Ngozi Eni (PDP Woman Leader, Ohafia), Members of the Ohafia Legislative Council, PDP Ward Executives in Ohafia, Men of the State Fire Service, Men of the Abia State Homeland Security, Traditional Rulers, PDP Women and Youths, Members of the Nwachinemere Foundation amongst others.
