A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) and National Coordinator, PDP Coalition, Chief Dr Emeka Kalu has slammed a former governor of Lagos state, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu for calling PDP a dead party.
Kalu in a statement signed by him said Tinubu was only trying to console his failed 2023 Presidential ambition as well as the outgoing governorof Ondo State, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, knowing the humiliation awaiting them during the guber poll.
“This claim is not only laughable but it’s a mockery of the failed APC that lost the state to the PDP during the last Presidential election even in the midst of intimidation and manipulations.”
“I think Tinubu is trying to console himself and Governor Akeredolu ahead of his defeat in the poll because, just last year, the PDP defeated the Buhari led APC roundly at the Presidential elections even when they tried manipulating the election; The PDP also won two out of the three Senatorial Seats in Ondo State. How can any sensible person call such a party dead?”
Kalu further warned Tinubu and his co-travellers not to even imagined rigging the election as Ondo people were prepared to resist any form of intimidation from the ruling APC. He said the people were ready to elect Mr Eyitayo Jegede, SAN for rapid development of the state.
“Another thing Tinubu should know is that Ondo people are not naive and they are ready to defend their votes. Ondo people are ready to vote for the PDP candidate, Mr Eyitayo Jegede for growth and development of the state and Tinubu’s ambition in 2023 cannot stop it”.
